New RPGs coming to Xbox Game Pass: Octopath Traveler, Yakuza 6, Nier Automata, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and more

The Xbox Game Pass library is expanding as it does every month - and the mid-March update to the gaming subscription service is bringing with it a solid deck of new RPGs to keep both PC and Xbox players busy.

As ever with Game Pass, every game in the service can be available in three different ways - on console (Xbox One, Series S and Series X), PC (via the Windows Store), and Cloud (via the Xbox Game Pass apps on iOS, Android & web browsers). Each game will be available in at least one of these formats - and we'll list which below. Here's the RPGs (and RPG-adjacent games) that'll be joining the service over the next couple of weeks:

  • Undertale (Console, PC, Cloud) - available today
  • Nier: Automata (PC) - available March 18
  • Torchlight III (PC) - available March 18
  • Octopath Traveler (Console, PC) - available March 25
  • Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition (PC) - available March 25
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Console, PC, Cloud) - available March 25
  • Outriders (Console, Cloud) - available April 1

In addition to the above, players can get some other bonuses - including 10% off The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos DLC for Game Pass subscribers (the base game is in Game Pass), while Game Pass members can nab a Mass Effect N7 Weapon Charm in Apex Legends.

These Game Pass additions were announced over on the Xbox Wire, and come just a few days after 20 Bethesda games including several Elder Scrolls and Fallout titles hit the service - it's a good month to be an RPG fan with a Game Pass subscription!

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes an Xbox Live Gold subscription for console, access to all Game Pass titles on both console and PC, and the ability to stream Xbox games to other devices via the Cloud, is $14.99/£10.99 per month. The stand-alone versions of Game Pass for Console or PC are $9.99/£7.99 monthly.
