Nintendo's Q1 FY2022 results gives us sales numbers for New Pokemon Snap, Miitopia, and other titles

Nintendo has posted its financial results [PDF] for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending in March 2022, giving us some sales numbers for both newly released titles as well as lifetime sales updates for longstanding Nintendo Switch games.

For new titles released in the fiscal year, three games have already surpassed 1 million sales. as follows:

  • New Pokemon Snap: 2.07 million (doesn't include JP sales as it was published by The Pokemon Company in the region)

  • Mario Golf: Super Rush: 1.34 million

  • Miitopia: 1.04 million

Four games that were released in previous fiscal years have sold 1 million additional units in the quarter, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ring Fit Adventure, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

As usual, there's always quite a bit to sift through if you want information on all of Nintendo's catalog, but here at RPG Site, we'll focus on the RPG (or related) sales data. Here are the sales updates compared to one quarter ago for some of the biggest RPG-related games on Nintendo Switch.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 23.20 million (up from 22.28 million)

  • Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield: 21.85 million (up from 21.10 million)

  • Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee: 13.57 million (up from 13.28 million)

  • Ring Fit Adventure: 11.26 million (up from 10.11 million)

Overall, Nintendo's sales and profits are down compared to last year, but it's worth noting that FY2021 had a juggernaut named Animal Crossing that was released in late March 2020, which is now at a staggering 33.89 million units sold.
