First trailer for Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness

Vespa and its Japanese subsidiary Hive have revealed the first trailer for the recently announced Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness (tentative title), set to release for mobile devices worldwide in 2022.

The trailer depicts the world view of the original Shining Force titles, then introduces the story of Heroes of Light and Darkness, set about 1000 years later. The game seems to have two new protagonists - shown in the trailer as infants - plus returning characters from the classic series such as Max, Bowie, Mae, and Sarah.

Vespa states that Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness combines Sega's famous Shining Force SRPG IP with Vespa's development capabilities exhibited with the dev team's mobile title King's Raid. Vespa also states that they hope to make a high-quality game that will satisfy both those with fond memories of the classic Shining Force games as well as those who are new to the series.

Details on an English release have not been stated, but Hive has obtained licensing right to distribute the game in North America and Europe.
