Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream appears on Australian Classification Board

A rating classification for Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream has appeared on the Australian Classification Board, filed by Koei Tecmo Europe for multiple platforms. It looks to be a sequel to Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, but has not yet been officially announced.

Atelier Sophie originally released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in Japan in November 2015, followed by releases on PC and Nintendo Switch as recently as April 2021. Considering Atelier Sophie technically already has a sequel of sorts with Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, it will be interesting to see how an Atelier Sophie 2 fits into the existing "Mysterious" trilogy of Atelier games.

This also isn't the first game in the series to be inadvertently revealed on a ratings board before an announcement. Last year, Atelier Ryza 2 was also spotted on the same Australian Classification website before it was officially announced a few days later.

Koei Tecmo is set to hold its Tokyo Game Show live stream on October 2 at 20:00 Tokyo time, in which the publisher teases a 4th unannounced title to be shown. It seems likely now that 4th title will be Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. It might be announced at the stream proper, or possibly shortly beforehand in the coming weeks.
