PSO2: New Genesis first major update Sandstorm Requiem arrives on December 15

Sega has revealed that Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will have its first major update on December 15. With the subtitle Sandstorm Requiem, it will add new content into the MMORPG including a new region and storyline.

After finishing the first chapter in the starting Aelio region, players will be able to access the new Retem region in the east. The desert-themed locale will have its own city and be surrounded by new types of enemies. It will also have new story NPCs, such as Retem City's leader Nadereh and her three advisor CASTs Hadi, Jalil, and Mohsen.

This update will also come with many new gameplay contents. All existing classes, including the recently-added Bouncer, will receive new skills. It will also bring back Wind, Light, and Dark elemental attacks.

Sega will also implement the Title system in the same update. Once the update goes live, it will immediately unlock achievements based on the character's stats. Players can then do more things like five-starring Trainia Cocoons and Towers to unlock more. These titles will play a part in the ARKS ID feature for players' identities, currently set to be implemented around February 2022.
