Final Fantasy XIII-2 gets Pre-order Bonus Content

Square Enix have announced their plans for pre-order bonus content for the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XIII-2, in turn confirming the kind of thing we can expect the game to get as downloadable content.

Japanese gamers who pre-order the game from Lawsons or HMV will nab themselves a download code for an exclusive weapon for Serah, who uses a bow and arrow in game.

The bow you get your hands on is supposedly an 'angels' set, which will leech some of the damage you do to enemies and return it back to Serah in the form of some healing goodness. Square Enix also said they'd release an image of the bow in an upcoming update.

Expect lots of downloads like this - costumes, weapons and items - in Final Fantasy XIII-2. If more substantial downloads such as story expansions will be offered remains unclear.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is arriving for PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan in December while a Western release will come in January and February next year. If you want to get your hands on the game first, Play Asia have the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game up for Import Preorder.
