Babylon's Fall - Combat 101 trailer, NieR: Automata Collaboration, and Season 1 Roadmap

Square Enix and PlatinumGames have released new information for Babylon's Fall, including a new Combat 101 trailer, details on a NieR: Automata Collaboration, and a Season 1 Roadmap.

Babylon's Fall is set to release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (Steam) on March 3. Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to play the game with Early Access on February 28.

Leading into the launch of the free Babylon's Fall PlayStation demo on February 25, Square Enix today released a new Combat 101 trailer. The trailer highlights the game’s unique gameplay mechanics, which allows players to wield weapons in both hands while utilizing the power of their Gideon Coffin to equip two additional spectral weapons. This four-weapon combat system provides countless ways to customize the combat experience and unleash devastating combinations against the enemies of the Ziggurat.

Also revealed was the Season 1 roadmap and trailer which shows a glimpse of all the action coming to Babylon's Fall from February 25 through May 31*, including new game modes, a new faction, new weapon type, new story content, new bosses, armor, quests and more. The Premium Battle Pass will be free for all players during Season 1.

Square Enix also announced the NieR: Automata collaboration taking place in Babylon's Fall during Season 1. Featuring costumes, enemies, and a dungeon inspired by NieR: AutomataNieR fans won’t want to miss out on this limited time event.

The Season 1 content will include:

  • Game modes
    • Skirmish: Side quests where you will encounter mighty "Infamous enemies".
    • Siege: Quests that change weekly and offer special rewards.
    • Duel: Quests focused on battles against powerful bosses.
    • Gauntlet: Quests where players compete to achieve the highest score on special stages.
  • Additional faction: Molzamite
  • Additional weapon type: Labrys
  • New story content, new bosses, armor, quests and more!

In Babylon's Fall players become a group of warriors known as the sentinels, bonded with special equipment called Gideon Coffins, and throw themselves into an odyssey to overcome the titanic Tower of Babylon, within which sleeps a great legacy. In addition to weapons wielded in both hands, characters can use the power of their Gideon Coffin to equip two more, allowing for combinations of up to four weapons at once. The capabilities of different equipment will also bring endless variation to the strategy that can be employed. The game’s visuals are achieved using a newly developed “brushwork style” to create a unique fantasy setting with a medieval oil painting aesthetic.

Featuring fluid co-op-combat, powerful weapons and a unique, striking art style, the epic world of Babylon's Fall can be played solo or in parties up to four**. Following the launch, Babylon's Fall will continue to be supported with new game modes, ongoing story content, and additional weapon types at no additional cost.

Further, the Babylon's Fall free downloadable demo launches tomorrow, February 25, on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The demo gives players access to the opening section of the game where both single player and four player cross-play co-op can be experienced for free. All progress and achievements will be carried over to the full version of the game on PlayStation platforms following the official launch on March 3. Those who pre-order Babylon's Fall Digital Deluxe Edition will receive early access to the full game on February 28.

Babylon's Fall is launching worldwide on the PlayStation 5 console, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) on March 3, 2022.
