Metal Slug Tactics gets its release pushed back to 2023
Publisher Dotemu and developer Leikir Studio have delayed the release of Metal Slug Tactics to some time in 2023.
It was originally slated to release in 2022 after its reveal in the Nintendo Indie World Showcase event in August 2021. After a long period of silence, Metal Slug Tactics will be missing this year unfortunately. The announcement was shared in a post by the Dotemu Twitter account with new artwork by @AngryangryD. It has Eri, Fio, Marco, and Tarma tinkering and fixing up the Metal Slug itself.
As a refresher, Metal Slug Tactics is an entirely new take on the Metal Slug series itself. It is an isometric strategy RPG with levels that continually expand at certain points. Players can navigate through the environment in some cases, such as jumping over a small gap between platforms on roofs. The Metal Slug crew can work together to pull off consecutive sync attacks to continually attack the same target in a single turn. It is an impressively ambitious project.
In the mean time, Metal Slug Tactics will now be releasing in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).
Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma are tinkering away to make #MetalSlugTactics as explosive as possible on release, but the squad needs a bit more time in the shop to prepare for the battles ahead. See you in 2023! @LeikirStudio x @Dotemu— Dotemu (@Dotemu) August 11, 2022
