Obsidian Developing a South Park RPG

Gameinformer has revealed a new project by Obsidian and THQ; one that could be considered quite shocking.  No, it isn't Dungeon Siege 4 but rather an RPG based on the crude political and social satire, South Park.

As surprising as it is, this does not seem to be a typical licensed proerpty cash-in.  Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators and main force behind the show, will be contributing quite a bit to the game.  In addition to overseeing production, they will also write the dialogue, script, and do the voice acting.   This is of course in great contrast to the criticial failures of both the original game and Chef's Love Shack by Acclaim back in the late 90s.  Based on this information, fans of the show should not be disappointed.

There is little information about the game so far, but we do know the protagonist will be a player created character who interacts with the colorful cast of the quiet Colorado mountain town.

The game is expected to hit next year.  We'll keep you updated.
