At last, Nintendo has unveiled the name of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel. It is titled The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and it is launching for the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023. The long-awaited follow-up was the final announcement in today's Nintendo Direct.

The new trailer shows new bits of gameplay footage again as Link jumps into a sea of clouds. It quickly cuts into Link clinging into a rock formation that serves as an elevator going high into the sky. Another clip has everyone's favorite activity from Breath of the Wild - climbing slowly up something.

One of the surprises in the new trailer for Tears of the Kingdom is that Link jumps onto an oversized glider teasing that some sort of extended aerial travel may be possible with a vehicle in the upcoming sequel.

Earlier this year at the end of March, we heard that this follow-up would be delayed to Spring 2023 so if it holds true to its May 12, 2023 release date, it'll just make it before the seasons change next year.

Feast your eyes on the new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, the latest entry in the storied Legend of Zelda series will take you up into the skies and an expanded world that goes beyond that! Look forward to Link’s massive adventure starting again when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, drops for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
