Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered appears on Xbox One and Xbox Series X

The Xbox stream at Tokyo Game Show 2022 revealed many Japanese games that will be newly available on the Xbox consoles. But perhaps the most notable ones on the list are the Ni no Kuni series. Level-5 and Bandai Namco chimed in on the stream and revealed that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered is instantly available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, as well as Xbox Game Pass. The companies are also preparing the Xbox ports of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, which will show up later in 2023.

For the record, the inaugural Ni no Kuni entry originally appeared as Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn for Nintendo DS in December 2010 in Japan. The home console version of the game changed the name to Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, and it appeared on the PlayStation 3 in November 2011 in Japan and January 2013 in the West.

Bandai Namco and Level-5 later released a remaster of the title for PlayStation 4 and PC in September 2019, while also publishing a Nintendo Switch port at the same time.

The PS4 and PC also received Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom first in March 2018. The sequel would later receive a Nintendo Switch port in September 2021. Both games were not slated to come to Xbox consoles prior to today's announcement.

The Xbox Japan channel has also put up a standalone trailer for the new Ni no Kuni ports. You can watch it right below.
