Fire Emblem Engage DLC Waves Revealed

In today's Nintendo Direct, we got new information on Fire Emblem Engage's DLC. The Expansion Pass was previously announced, but the specifics were unknown at the time. Waves 2 and 3 will consist of additional Emblem bracelets and maps to recruit the Emblems on, while Wave 4 will be a big story update with additional characters to recruit.

Wave 2 will bring in big fan favourites Hector from the original Fire Emblem game in the West, Soren from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn, and Camilla from Fates. Hector, the Emblem of Strength, will increase defense and allow for devastating counterattacks. Soren, the Emblem of Acumen, will have an Engage skill that will cast a spell that hits enemies over multiple tiles. Camilla, the Emblem of Revelation, will unleash a powerful attack over a wide area and will "modify the terrain to hinder enemies".

Wave 3 will bring in a new paired bracelet with Robin and Chrom, the Emblem of Bonds. Their Engage attack will see them attack an enemy with a powerful skill that uses "sword and magic". In addition, the mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes, will get a representative in Veronica, the Emblem of Heroes. In the story of Fire Emblem Heroes, Veronica has gone from being the main villain of the game at the beginning of the story, to a recurring side character with goals aligning more with the main cast, to becoming one of the main heroes in the most recent story chapters. Her Engage skill will "summon additional allies".

Wave 4, called the Fell Xenologue, will include brand-new characters including one with the ability to transform into a dragon. Based off the trailer, it appears characters from another world are seeking the help of Alear's group. More information on Wave 4 is likely to be revealed in the future as this story DLC is still in the works.

At the end of the trailer, it was also revealed that Wave 2 will be available today for players to download and continue their playthroughs of Fire Emblem Engage. The release of Waves 3 and 4 will be announced at a later date.
