Starfield gets a September 6 release date, Starfield Direct coming on June 11

Bethesda Game Studios has announced that Starfield will launch for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass on September 6, 2023. Originally delayed ten months ago to a nebulous "first half of 2023" windows from its original November 11, 2022 release date, the space-facing epic has now been pushed back to a very late summer release this year.

Alongside the announcement, Bethesda released a short new trailer with a small amount of new footage. In addition, the release date announcement also includes a message from boss Todd Howard announcing that a Starfield Direct will unmask the full game details on June 11, 2023. We got our first extended look at the title around the same time last year, which revealed the ability to build a personalized spacecraft. Howard did not really give any details about what to expect at the Starfield Direct, but expressed a lot of excitement for sharing more about the studio's new IP.

Get ready to embark on an epic journey when Starfield, the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, launches on September 6, 2023.
