Redemption Reapers PS5 edition announced for July 2023

Binary Haze Interactive announced that it is working on a version of its tactical RPG Redemption Reapers for the PlayStation 5. The game was released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam on February 22, 2023. Denfaminico Gamer reports that the release date for Redemption Reapers on PS5 will fall in July 2023. Players who own the PS4 version of the game will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free. It was not specified if their saved data will carry over, though.

Additionally, the physical editions of Redemption Reapers will also be delayed to July 2023. Physical editions of the game are exclusive to Japan and Asia. According to Binary Haze Interactive, the reason for the July release window for the PS5, as well as the postponement of physical editions for all platforms, relates to developer Adglobe's planned patch schedule. Binary Haze intends for the physical and PS5 editions of Redemption Reapers to contain all the planned additions and patches for the game.

Currently, the game is up to version 1.2.0, but the planned version 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 updates will add a number of tweaks and new features.

These include adjustments to the user experience, interface, and game balance adjustments. The version 1.4.0 update will also include an Easy Mode difficulty and a New Game+ function. Redemption Reapers is quite tough, especially in the early game, with encounter design and game mechanics that turn even the tutorial battle into a tough, bitter brawl. In RPG Site's review of the game, Adam said that Redemption Reapers was "very intentionally oppressive towards the player". It seems that at least some of the adjustments are aimed at making life a bit easier for players that find that mood more frustrating than fun.

Redemption Reapers is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4. The PS5 edition will come out in July 2023.
