Genshin Impact 3.7 expansion is all about the in-game card game

Next week, it'll be time to duel. The next content expansion for Genshin Impact, the 3.7 patch, will launch on May 24, 2023. It appears to be heavily focused on its in-game card battle system.

It is titled "Duel! The Summoner's Summit!", and will feature a limited-time event focused on playing Genius Invokation TCG, the in-game collectible card battler introduced with the 3.3 update in late 2022.

Check out a trailer for the new event below:

The centerpiece of the Genshin Impact 3.7 update is a story event focused on a Teyvat-wide card game tournament called the King of Invokations. Players from all four nations revealed so far - and then some - will participate, with the Traveler and Paimon getting involved to hunt down a mysterious "card snatcher". The event will involve activities both directly based on matches of Genius Invokation TCG as well as more traditional gameplay. The story also appears to involve two new characters, a catgirl-like Inazuma native named Kirara and a photographer from Fontaine, which is widely believed to be the next playable nation in the pipeline.

According to HoYoVerse, the event will also see a major expansion of the Genius Invokation TCG mode itself, with more than 60 new cards, as well as new playable character cards (such as those of the Four Archons). Two new special modes for the TCG - one for PVE and for PVP, will also debut.

Genshin Impact is available on iOS, Android, PC, PS4, and PS5. The 3.7 update will launch on May 24, 2023.
