Honkai Star Rail 1.1 update releases in early June 2023, brings Silver Wolf, Luocha, and new events

HoYoVerse revealed more about the first major update to Honkai Star Rail in a live stream held on May 27th, 2023. The company said that the update to Honkai Star Rail version 1.1 will launch on June 7, 2023.

The update will bring with it a new login promotional campaign, a set of mini-events that boost reward drops, a new event that permanently expands the planet of Jarilo-VI, some new features, companion missions, and three new playable characters.

Titled "Galactic Roaming," the Honkai Star Rail 1.1 update trailer shows off the new playable characters. New to the game's gacha banner are the 5-Star characters Silver Wolf and Luocha and the 4-Star character Yukong.

Silver Wolf was first seen in the main story prologue and is a member of the Stellaron Hunters alongside Kafka and Blade. She joins the game as a Quantum-element Nihility character, the second 5-Star character of that path alongside Welt. She can inflict Weakness on enemies and reduce enemy defense while using her hacking skills to randomly debuff enemies in battle.

Luocha is an Imaginary-type Abundance character. He appeared as an NPC during the main story's Xianzhou Luofu section. As a playable character he's the second 5-Star healer alongside Bailu, and the 3rd healer overall. His skills can restore large amounts of HP to allies and can immediately heal them if they're damaged over 50%. His Ultimate ability tacks a buff called Abyss Flower that causes allies to restore health whenever they attack enemies in its area of effect.

Yukong is the new 4-Star Imaginary-type character and will appear on the same banner as Luocha. A Foxian who serves as the Xianzhou Luofu's Sky-Faring Commission leader, Yukong can buff ally Attack power, Critical rate, and Critical damage. In a sense she's similar to Tingyun, though with a focus on targeting the full party with buffs rather than a single character.

Besides characters, the in-game planet of Jarilo-VI will receive a new playable area in the form of the Belobog History and Culture Museum. The Museum will open and become a permanent playable area. Its tie-in event will see players acting as curators for the museum as it prepares to reopen. Other events include "Starhunt Game," an event based on Silver Wolf, "Lab Assistants in Position," an event based on fighting the Antimatter Legion in a research context, and the combat simulator event "Stellar Flare." Finally, the Garden of Plenty mini-event will temporarily double rewards from Calyxes, to boost farming income.

Alongside events, companion missions for the characters Silver Wolf, Bailu, Yanqing, and Luocha will be available to play. Additional "Lost Trotter" battles will also be available on some maps, which players can tackle for extra rewards.

The Honkai Star Rail 1.1 "Galactic Roaming" update will also bring some interface and gameplay improvements. An in-game chat system similar to Genshin Impact's will also go live, allowing players to message their friends. Material farming will become slightly more convenient, too, as the "'Enemy Navigation" system will pinpoint enemies that drop specific materials to teleport to directly from the map.

Honkai Star Rail is available on PC, iOS, and Android. PlayStation editions are in development. The version 1.1 update goes live on June 7, 2023. Check out RPG Site's initial impression of the game, along with our growing repository of guides.
