Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name releasing on November 9, according to PS Deals

According to price tracking website PS Deals, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is slated to release on November 9 later this year.

This new side-story was surprisingly announced last September during RGG Summit 2022 alongside Like A Dragon: Ishin! and Like A Dragon 8 in a very packed showcase. At the time, RGG Studio compared Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name to Lost Judgment's The Kaito Files DLC, estimating the Kiryu-focused story to be roughly half the size of a regular Like a Dragon game. This new title focuses on what happened to series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu after the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and before the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Since Kiryu is also seemingly slated to be a returning protagonist in Like A Dragon 8, potential narrative ties to the next mainline entry may also be a possibility.

The store page description also provides some high-level additional detail about the title, including being able to switch between Yakuza and Agent combat styles, the return of both Sotenbori and Yokohama, and the return of the Pocket Circuit.

LIkely, this information was initially intended to be announced during RGG Summit Summer 2023, which is slated to occur in about a week on June 16. We definitely expect to see more footage or details about both the new Side-Story title, and of course Like A Dragon 8.
