Fate/Samurai Remnant opening animation and remaining key characters revealed

Koei Tecmo and Type-Moon have published more information for Fate/Samurai Remnant by updating the game's official website ahead of the Obon holiday week in Japan. The remaining key characters who were obscured before are now all known with this update. The companies have also uploaded the game's opening video that features all of the main characters.

The update added some details to the most mysterious Caster team. It revealed the artwork for the Servant, who is being voiced in Japanese by Anri Katsu. While we have still yet to see the Master unmasked, we now know that the latter's identity is Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro, an Onmyoji diviner who is also a descendant of Abe-no-Seimei.

Like most of the other Masters (barring Dorothea who was created as a fictional daughter of Fredrik Coyett), Yasuhiro is also an existing historical figure, although records about him are very scarce. This game will depict him as an Observer who hosts the Waxing Moon Ritual, and Satoshi Mikami will provide his voiceover.

Fate/Samurai Remnant - Caster team

The same update also unveiled the remaining two Rogue Servants who were previously shrouded in silhouettes. While the English website omitted the lines, the original Japanese site confirmed that Rogue Caster's true identity is Circe, and the Rogue Assassin is Li Shuwen. The latter is especially notable as the 19th-century martial artist's heroic spirit somehow gets summoned from the future to an event taking place in the 16th century.

Last but definitely not least, the update also revealed the mysterious character who was teased at the end of the previous trailer. Although he is only formally known as "Boss" in English or "Young Master" in Japanese, he is running a textile shop named Babyloni-ya, known for his arrogance and calling others "mongrels," and has Tomokazu Seki as his voice actor. Fate series fans would easily recognize him as none other than Gilgamesh.

Fate/Samurai Remnant - Other characters

With all the key characters revealed, Koei Tecmo also uploaded the game's opening movie on their YouTube channel. Samurai Remnant will also have an opening theme song in "Zanya Gessou" by Spiral Ladder feat. LICCA.

You can watch the Fate/Samurai Remnant opening video right below. The game will come to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 28 in Japan and Asia, and September 29 in North America and Europe.
