Silent Hope introduces character gameplay in a new Seven Heroes trailer

XSEED Games has released a new trailer for action RPG Silent Hope that shows off how each of its seven playable characters will play. They all possess their own unique weapons and classes to deal with foes differently.

Each playable character is named after their own class. Wanderer is a jack-of-all-trades character equipped with a sword and shield; he is capable of shield bashing foes and swinging their sword in wide arcs that pushes enemies back. Warrior is a strong swordswoman that wields a single oversized greatsword that deals an enormous amount of damage with each hit.

Rogue is described as a 'fleet-footed bladedancer' who dual wields swords in her maid outfit. She attacks swiftly and can rapidly go in-and-out of combat. Archer, as you imagine, brings their trusty bow and arrow into battle to deal with enemies at a distance. They can lay traps as well to immobilize foes. Meanwhile, Farmer utilizes a trident to poke and pierce through her opposition; it also shows that she can cast some form of magic and is able to give herself buffs by harvesting crops from the ground to eat them.

For those that want to get up close and personal, Fighter relies on a flurry of punches to beat down anything in her path; she can even buff her movement speed up to get in range even faster. Sorcerer is for all the magic lovers out there. He is capable of wielding the elements to cast a variety of magic spells.

Besides the new trailer, an Official World Guide website has opened for Silent Hope that shares a lot more information about the game. It provides a detailed breakdown of each playable character's background and teases the two Advanced Classes they can turn into. For instance, Wanderer has the Adventurer and Drifter Advanced Classes available to him. There's some fun flavor text too, as the story-centric Princess comments on her thoughts about each character - she even makes a comment about herself.

The Official World Guide shares more information about the Base Camp system in Silent Hope and how each playable character has their own specialty during those sections in the game, such as how the Warrior works at the Forge to fortify weapons and equipment.

It mentions that players don't need to feel the pressure to level up every single character and they're free to play with as many or few of them as they please, though swapping between them can grant special buffs.

The site specifically mentions that Silent Hope will not have any multiplayer or online play; it is strictly a single-player game, though the developers may consider adding these features if Silent Hope gets a sequel.

Silent Hope launches on October 3 for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). For more, you can check out:

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today shared more information about their upcoming action-RPG, Silent Hope, which is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch™ system in North America and Windows PC via Steam worldwide on Oct. 3. The publisher released a new video showcasing each of the seven playable characters’ unique fighting styles and strengths to prepare players before they delve deep into The Abyss in their quest to aid the Princess and return words to their world.

The publisher also released the first installment of the 'Official World Guide,’ an online resource of information about the setting and characters of Silent Hope that will be expanded with additional details, assets, and tips from the development team before the title releases. Today’s first update dives into the lore of Silent Hope, detailing the historical events that resulted in the Princess being suspended in a crystal teardrop and her call to action for her seven champions. The Guide also explores additional content not found anywhere else, including the personalities of the seven heroes, their backstories and how they found their way to the Great Crystal, an exciting look at the weapons they wield, and a reveal of the advanced classes they can unlock.

Silent Hope harkens back to the glory days of isometric dungeon-crawlers but with a modern flair. Players will take on the roles of seven unlikely heroes, each with their own unique weapon, fighting style, and non-combat job. After spending their days battling through enemies and collecting materials in The Abyss, the heroes will return to Base Camp to craft, improve gear, and prepare for their next excursion. Each journey into The Abyss will be a fresh experience, with procedurally generated layouts ensuring no two adventures are the same, with even greater dangers lurking the further the heroes dare to venture.
