Atlus and Vanillaware announce tactical RPG Unicorn Overlord for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch
Atlus and Vanillaware revealed Unicorn Overlord, the next game that Vanillaware has been developing. It is a tactical RPG that emphasizes party formations facing off each other as players wander around the world map. It'll be released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 8, 2024.
Unicorn Overlord was first teased in the paid 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue demo that released on March 14, 2019. The 18-second teaser merely had the camera pan down onto a group of knights and one of them looked at the camera.
Now, it's been revealed that was for Unicorn Overlord. The new RPG has players take on the role of a fallen Prince who must cultivate his army to retake his kingdom. There'll be over 60 characters that players can choose from to form their army as they visit five nations to grow their renown.
The world of Unicorn Overlord contains humans, elves, beasts, and angels. Players can customize their war banner's appearance as they march into battle. Vanillaware's trademark of delicious food makes a return in Unicorn Overlord; there'll be other side activities, such as cultivating the land itself as well.
Today, Atlus and Vanillaware announced their new tactical fantasy RPG Unicorn Overlord, set to launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 (digital only), and Xbox Series X|S on March 8, 2024.
