Genshin Impact Wriothesley demo trailer shows off his boxing skills

HoYoVerse released a new trailer for Wriothesley, the newest addition to the Genshin Impact playable roster. Wriothesly is the second 5-Star rarity character announced for addition during the current version 4.1 update, after Neuvillette.

Check out the trailer below:

Titled "Wriothesley: Art of Improvisation", the character demo trailer shows off the Lord of Fontaine's Fortress of Meropide, and his unusual hands-on approach to problem-solving. Wriothesley fights to the top of an underground tournament ladder, apparently using his progress to confront and defeat the tourney champion: An illegally modified Gardemek automaton.

Wriothesley is the game's very first Cryo-element Catalyst-wielding character, and the second character to mainly fight using martial arts - his boxing techniques are augmented by a pair of mechanized gauntlets. Another "martial arts"-based character introduced to the game is Inazuma native Shikanoin Heizou, a 4-Star Anemo character introduced in version 2.8.

HoYoVerse also elaborated on Wriothesley's personality in last week's character teaser, titled "Indispensable Protocols":

In Genshin Impact's English dub, Wriothesley is voiced by actor Joe Zieja, who also provided the English voice of Claude from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Achilles in the Fate/Apocrypha anime. Wriothesley's Japanese voice is provided by Daisuke Ono, who also voiced Honkai: Star Rail's Jing Yuan, Fire Emblem Awakening's Frederick, and Final Fantasy XIII's Snow.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. Players can attempt to roll for Wriothesley between October 17 and November 7, 2023 (though HoYoVerse typically reruns limited character Wish banners after some time).
