Genshin Impact 4.3 Update launches December 20, adds Navia, Chevreuse, and Fontaine Film Festival event

HoYoVerse has detailed the next and final Genshin Impact update of 2023, which will bring the game to version 4.3. The new update launches on December 20, 2023, will add two playable characters to the roster, as well as debut a new playable event centered around Fontaine's cinema circuit.

Check out a trailer for Genshin Impact version 4.3, "Roses and Muskets" below:

The update will add two new playable characters to the roster: Navia and Chevreuse. Navia is the leader of the Spina di Rosula organization and played a major role in the 4.0 Archon Quest. She's a 5-Star Geo-aligned character who uses a claymore, but also seems to wield an umbrella with equal proficiency. Chevreuse is the captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, and a 4-Star Pyro-aligned character. She wields a polearm, but is seen in most art wielding a Fontainian musket weapon. The update will also see limited banner reruns for the characters Kamisato Ayaka, Raiden Shogun, and Yoimiya.

Event-wise, Genshin Impact 4.3 will center around the Fontinalia Festival, a unique film festival held in Fontaine. The festival honors the Lochknights, a legendary group of warriors who welcomed Egeria, the previous Hydro Archon, to Fontaine. Players will team up with Inazuma's Kamisato siblings (Ayaka and Ayato) and Furina to create a short film. Other activities during the even will include shooting and marksmanship training. One of the event rewards is a 4-Star claymore weapon "Ultimate Overlords Mega Magic Sword."

Outside of the game, HoYoVerse announced the public broadcast date for Genshin Concert 2023, its 60-minute celebratory concert featuring music from the game. The concert will be available on various channels on December 22, 2023. It features over 25 pieces of Genshin Impact music stretching across all the Teyvat nations featured so far. The concert is directed by Japanese composer Yasunori Nishiki (who worked on Octopath Traveler and its sequel and Final Fantasy VII Remake), and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. More details are available on the official website.

Genshin Impact is available for mobile devices, PS4, PS5, and PC. Update 4.3 launches on December 20, 2023 and Genshin Concert 2023 launches on December 22, 2023.
