Bioware: Sony 'will not allow' ME3 Multiplayer Challenges on PS3

Bioware has quietly revealed the reason behind PlayStation 3 owners missing out on special Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode events is a decision of Sony's in a new post on their official blog.

"Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer our Multiplayer Challenge weekends on PlayStation 3," The post explains after revealing a new bonus for this coming weekend for PC and Xbox 360 players.

"Sony has not yet approved the promotion. We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC."

The bonus weekends challenge players to complete certain objectives as a collective group such as leveling up or promoting multiple characters or killing a certain number of enemies in total. Players who participate are then rewarded with bonus unlockables for use in the multiplayer mode.

More information on this week's bonus and Bioware's statement on the PS3 version can be found on their official blog.
