The Quintessential Quintuplets-themed dungeon RPG is coming to Switch, PS5, and PS4 in Japan on September 18
MAGES has revealed that they will release a new fantasy dungeon RPG themed after The Quintessential Quintuplets for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in Japan on September 18. The game's full title in Japanese is 5toubun no Princess: Gensou to Shin'en to Mahou Gakuin, which could also be translated to The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy and Abyss and Magic Academy.
The company noted that this new title is the fourth mainline console game based on The Quintessential Quintuplets. The series' game portal site also lists two side games that compiled story episodes from the 5toPuzz mobile puzzle game. However, while the prior games were mostly adventure visual novels, this will be the first time MAGES is producing a dungeon crawler RPG based on the popular manga and anime series. The company also added in the reveal trailer that this game will be a spin-off of the series.
The Quintessential Princesses will take place in a fantasy world where most of the student characters are instead enrolled in a magic academy. The player will still take the role of the franchise's protagonist Futaro Uesugi, but his sister Raiha will instead appear as a tiny familiar.
MAGES also revealed that they will release physical limited editions for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 releases of The Quintessential Princesses, which will appear in two tiers. The Limited Edition will come with a booklet, an original soundtrack DVD, and a Blu-ray disc containing the game's opening animation, a 45-minute visual drama, and original anime scenes totaling 10 minutes at 14,190 yen.
The more luxurious Special Box, which costs more at 25,190 yen, will have additional booklets containing scripts and storyboards for the new anime scenes, as well as alternate sleeve cases, 5 acrylic stands featuring the Nakano quintuplets, and 6 badges showing Futaro and the quintuplets.

An English localization for this Japanese game has yet to be confirmed as of this writing.
Story Synopsis
This is a kingdom where science and magic co-exist.
Futaro Uesugi, a student in the magic academy who lives in poverty, received an offer to work part-time as a private tutor with favorable terms. He ended up having to teach the quintuplets who are also his classmates!
These 5 girls are known as the daughters of a wealthy aristocrat serving the royal family, but they notably "hate studying" and are "on the verge of failing to advance to the next grade." While Futaro has to deal with them, he ended up learning about the quintuplets' "secret"...
Game System
The player will become Futaro, who will take on quests by customizing the equipment and magic loadouts of the Nakano quintuplets. Clearing these quests will unlock stories.
Whether all stories are going to be unlocked or not will be up to the player's skills.
- Story: The main story will take place in the magic academy, and there will also be character stories that give spotlights to each of the quintuplets.
- Growth: Each character can be raised individually. You can do things like increasing their parameters, customizing their magic staves, and synthesizing items.
- Quest & Battles: You can explore dungeons by accepting quests. Other than gathering items, battles will also trigger. You will use magic to repel the monsters.
