PS5 versions of Trails of Cold Steel III & IV and Trails into Reverie will appear in Japan on August 21

Nihon Falcom has announced that they will release the PlayStation 5 versions of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III, Trails of Cold Steel IV, and Trails into Reverie in both physical and digital formats in Japan on August 21. The company has also set up a new official webpage dedicated to the upcoming PS5 ports.

For the record, the native PS5 versions for all three above titles have already appeared in the West for long. NIS America released the PS5 version of Trails into Reverie simultaneously with all other platforms in July 2023. They also later ported Trails of Cold Steel III and IV to the same platform in February 2024.

Prior PS4 releases of the games have been playable on the PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. However, the native PS5 versions had never been formally confirmed in Japan before this announcement.

Nihon Falcom has yet to announce whether save data transfers will be available for those who have played the PS4 releases and want to migrate to the native PS5 versions. The company instead just put up the general story synopsis for each title while revealing the store-exclusive goods available by pre-ordering the physical copies from the respective outlets.
