
Pokemon Legends: Z-A launches on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
The Pokemon Company just announced that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will launch on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide.
The Pokemon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, that was revealed alongside the Switch 2, will feature improved graphics and frame rates. Pokemon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch owners can upgrade to the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition via the Upgrade Pack. This will be available for digital and physical Pokemon Legends: Z-A owners on Nintendo Switch.

A new Pokemon Presents presentation will also air on July 22 for updates on Pokemon.

Today, The Pokémon Company International revealed new details for the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game. New merchandise featuring Mega Evolution has also been released on Pokémon Center to help fans gear up for the highly anticipated video game release. Additionally, this summer’s Pokémon Presents presentation has been confirmed.
Pokémon Legends: Z-AThe Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games have been slated for release on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Preorders will begin Thursday, June 5, on Nintendo eShop.
Players who purchase either the physical or digital version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch will have the option to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing an upgrade pack. Upgrade packs will be available on Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store.
The cover art has also been unveiled, featuring the game’s main characters and their partner Pokémon battling a Mega-Evolved Pokémon at night in Lumiose City.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a new frontier for the Pokémon video game series, blending an RPG story unfolding in a single city with action elements and a real-time battle system unlike anything seen before in the franchise. Trainers can look forward to the beginning of a new adventure in Lumiose City—one woven by people and Pokémon together!
