Marisa of Liartop Mountain, developer Unknown X’s gamebook-inspired digital tabletop-style adventure RPG based on Touhou Project, adds a book’s worth of new content with the launch of today’s new demo. Explore the first chapter today on PC via Steam.
When Marisa goes missing, it’s up to Shrine Maiden Reimu to figure out her whereabouts! Follow the clues and adventure into the living pages of a magical storybook. Inside, each character becomes an adorable cardboard tabletop figurine, and dice rolls and decisions pen the path forward.
Heed (or ignore) the guidance of Touhou heroines from the Scarlet Devil Mansion series as Remilia, Sakuya, Patchouli, and Flandre interject with their own input on Reimu’s actions.
Each counselor will butt in with their opinions recommend a distinct path forward, altering the story arc and affecting Reimu’s progression. Level up and unlock different sets of dice based on whose advice Reimu chooses to follow.
In the demo, experiment with more than 20 types of dice while wandering through wondrous locales, from curious carnivals to mystical mansions and much more. Roll the dice and explore a mysterious gauntlet of supernatural phenomena where skill, wit, and a dash of luck determine Reimu’s fate.
The new demo for Marisa of Liartop Mountain is available today, with the full release arriving September 19th, 2025 with language support in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
