Bandai Namco reveals Opening Cinematic for Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree
Earlier this month, we had the chance to go hands-on with Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, the upcoming roguelike from Bandai Namco and Brownies. While we enjoyed our (short) time with the game and are interested in seeing more, we weren't quite sure if we'd seen enough of what made Towa tick - and chances are we won't know for sure how the game stacks up until closer to launch.
Following up on the game's reveal during Summer Game Fest, however, Bandai Namco is already continuing to ramp up marketing for the project with an early release of the game's opening cinematic.
This opening movie, which was animated by YKBX, sets the stage for the game when it launches on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). The game will be available both physically and digitally for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with a digital-only release for Xbox and PC. If you missed it, check out our hands-on impression of the game from an early look at the Anime Expo demo during Summer Game Fest.
Bandai Namco has also recently released the first entry in a series of "Towa Talk" trailers, offering a gameplay overview for the roguelike RPG. You can find that video below.
Take on the role of Towa—sworn protector of the Shinju village—and venture into distant lands to defeat the evil god Magatsu.
