Drecom has released a summer update to Wizardry Variants Daphne, adding a new Samurai class along with a limited-time Legendary Adventurer.

The new legendary adventurer, Shiou, is beastfolk samurai and master of the Ephemeral Illusion style, which allows her to increase her strength when at low HP. She will only be available for a limited time until August 6, 2025 (JST).
Wizardry Variants Daphne is a free-to-play 3D dungeon crawler based on the Wizardry IP, which released for mobile devices in 2024 and Steam earlier this year.

Drecom Co., Ltd. today announced a major summer update for Wizardry Variants Daphne, the latest title in the legendary Wizardry RPG franchise. This update introduces the Samurai, a katana-exclusive class built around reactive sword stances, along with a new limited-time Legendary Adventurer: Shiou, the Everlasting Katana Hunter. Players can unlock Shiou, earn rare equipment, and experience new survival mechanics during a series of special campaigns running through August 6 (JST).
New Class: Samurai - A new katana-exclusive class joins the roster, focused on adapting to the battlefield through versatile sword stances.
Class Overview: Samurai - A class hailing from the Eastern lands, known for their unique sword arts. Masters of the blade, Samurai overcome physically stronger foes through timing and precision.
Samurai-Exclusive Weapon: Katana - A curved, single-edged blade over 60 cm long. When imbued with magical energy, the katana can unleash devastating attacks.
Samurai Sword Arts - Samurai cannot equip other weapons or shields. Instead, they shift between stances for offense and defense. The right stance at the right time can turn even dire moments into victory.

A beastfolk samurai and master of the Ephemeral Illusion style, Shiou is renowned for her precise swordplay and survival instincts.

Notable Skills
Ephemeral Illusion Stance: Enters the Ephemeral Illusion Stance for 1 turn and performs a massive air-type physical attack that bypasses Defense Power on 1 enemy. Increases own Action Speed and increases damage taken. Stance is cancelled if damage is taken during stance. Can only be used once per battle when own HP is 30% or under.
Lingering Blossom: Increases Attack Power and Surety for 3 turns. For 1 turn, the user becomes more likely to be targeted by enemies, and if they would take damage that reduces their HP to 0, they might persevere once with 1 HP. If the user perseveres, their Evasion, Attack Power, and Surety are increased for 4 turns. Chance of persevering and chance of being targeted are greatly reduced, and Evasion, Attack Power, and Surety increase amounts are also reduced if learned by anyone other than Shiou.
