Gameplay details for DMM Games exclusive PC and Android game Muv-Luv: Girls Garden revealed

Exnoa has published a presentation premiere for Muv-Luv: Girls Garden, which revealed the details for the new free-to-play game. It will be available exclusively on the DMM Games platform on PC (web browser or downloadable program) and Android in Japan in 2025.

The game's main scenario plotter Hayato Tashiro and character designer Siino have commented that Girls Garden will have a new world setting not immediately connected to prior Muv-Luv entries. The player will appear as an amnesiac commander who will be primarily tasked with forming a mech squad to explore a mysterious underground realm called Maze.

As suggested by the Girls Garden title, the mech pilots in this game are implied to be all female. In addition, this game is totally confirmed using a Gacha system to gather the characters, with each of them graded with rarities like SR and SSR.

The mech units in this game will be generally known as Maze Guarders, and they are being designed by Wataru Inata (a.k.a. Koh Inaba). He used to work at FromSoftware for Armored Core: For Answer and Another Century's Episode: R, as well as Monolith Soft for Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Inata then went freelance and made designs for anime titles like Macross Delta: Absolute Live, Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, and Grendizer U.

The primary gameplay mode will have the squad traverse around the maze. Battles against the Maze Shifter creatures will occur and be presented in an RPG-like format. However, all unit actions in the battles will be completely automated. The only commands players can take here will be the pre-sortie squad composition, as well as choices for stat-buffing Relics and branches for the next node in the exploration route.

Here are some of the screenshots we took from the presentation program. You can also find the anime trailer, newly published right below.
