Fate/Extra Record release timeframe delayed from 2025 to Spring 2026

The release timeframe for Fate/Extra Record has now been delayed from 2025 to Spring 2026. Bandai Namco and Type-Moon made the announcement right as the original Fate/Extra hits its 15th anniversary day from its Japanese PSP release on July 22, 2010. The companies stated that they need more time to make the new game have better quality and playability.

To compensate for the delay, Bandai Namco has published details of the remake's product bonuses. The general breakdown of the physical releases (with prices already including Japanese tax) is as follows:

  • Regular edition: ¥8,910 - only contains a single physical game copy for PS5 or Switch
  • Limited edition: ¥16,830 - includes a 3-CD soundtrack album and a material art book
  • Asobi Store Special edition: ¥27,830 - also adds a Selection Soundtrack vinyl and a multi-layered acrylic block
  • Asobi Store Super Special edition: ¥39,380 - also adds a framed Chara Fine Graph art

The PS4 and PC Steam versions will only be available digitally. The digital releases on all 4 platforms (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC) can be purchased on their own (¥8,910) or via a Digital Deluxe Edition (¥13,200) that adds digital versions of the soundtrack and material book, as well as in-game packs for the original Fate/Extra BGM set and costumes for the protagonist and their Servant. The latter content will also be available via a separate upgrade DLC at ¥4,950 for those who get the game's physical release or digital regular edition.
