The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon launches in North America and Europe on January 15

Following up on the announcement of the game's upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version and release window last month, NIS America and Nihon Falcom have now confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon will be launching in North America and Europe on January 15, 2026. With the game's eventual release, it will mark the first time in the series' history when fans across the globe will all have every game in the franchise available to them. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam). Prior to today's announcement, we had the chance to sit down with Nihon Falcom's President Toshihiro Kondo and discuss the history of the series and its importance to the company as a whole, among other things. Additionally, NIS America has released a trailer alongside today's announcement, which we have embedded below.

We previously covered the Japanese release last year, where it launched as Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria-, and found the game to be a great time - though not without its faults, namely some pacing concerns. That being said, someone else will revisit the game when the western release drops on January 15. Stay tuned to our further thoughts next year.
