Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will newly add Mega Evolution cards this Fall

The Pokemon Company has published a new teaser trailer for another content update coming to Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. This one teases that Mega Evolution cards will be newly added in the upcoming Fall season.

Unlike the prior trailers that revealed new booster packs—the most recent one being the Johto-based Wisdom of Sea and Sky, this one does not reveal any new booster pack title in particular as it only focuses on revealing 3 Mega Evolution ex cards based on Mega Altaria, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Blaziken. And unlike the mainline games but just like the original TCG, players will place the Mega Evolved Pokemon cards on top of prior stages like Swablu, Magikarp, and Combusken.

The trailer also reveals that Mega Evolution ex cards in this mobile game will have a similar rule to the original TCG: Defeating them will let players take 3 points. But while the original TCG rules need 6 points to win, only 3 points are needed in TCG Pocket. That means defeating an ex Mega Evolved Pokemon firsthand will be enough for players to immediately win the match with the current ruleset in the mobile game as of this writing.

You can find the new teaser trailer right below. Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is available worldwide on Android and iOS.

Get excited for the ever-fluffy Mega Altaria, the ghastly Mega Gyarados, and Mega Blaziken as they make their Pokémon TCG Pocket debut as powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.
