D4 Enterprise takes down EGG Console Switch ports of Fray and Brandish Renewal
D4 Enterprise has announced that they are taking down the EGG Console ports of Fray and Brandish Renewal on Nintendo Switch. The digital listings for both ports are gradually being made unavailable on the Nintendo eShop. But those who have already purchased the ports can still access and re-download them.
This marks a setback in the company's gradual releases of retro Japanese PC game ports that also include RPGs. Both ports were also released very recently, with Fray coming out last July and Brandish Renewal appearing just a few days ago on the 14th.
In the announcement tweet, D4 Enterprise did not provide a clear reason as they simply mentioned "circumstances." However, Bluesky user All City Slop Shop has noted that it could be due to both ports using MSDOS in the PC-98 emulator.

As of this writing, the same PC-9801 versions of both Fray and Brandish Renewal are still available via the Project EGG platform for modern Windows PCs. However, this platform is only available in the Japanese language and requires an additional monthly subscription of 550 yen.
