High-school RPG Varlet from FuRyu is now available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC

FuRyu has launched its high-school RPG Varlet for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic).

Alongside the launch, two new character song videos have been released. These are "new tragedy." Sota Kodaki (performed by Tomohiro Ono) and "Marionette ballerina" Noa Hatsuse (performed by Saran Tajima). The two of them can be found below alongside the launch details, via FuRyu.

FURYU Corporation, an esteemed Japanese video game and entertainment company, today announced the launch of Varlet, an all-new high school RPG, now available on the Nintendo Switch system, PC (via Steam), and PlayStation 5. The title is now available for purchase digitally on all storefronts in a Standard Edition for $59.99 and Digital Deluxe Edition, including a digital artbook with 80 pages, digital album with 53 individual tracks, and the “Monark & The Caligula Effect 2 School Uniform DLC”, for $79.99. FURYU also announced early purchase bonus cosmetic DLC through Sept. 27, with PlayStation®Store purchases receiving the Winter Color School Uniform for the Hero and Nintendo eShop purchases receiving the Autumn Color School Uniform for the Hero.

At the core of Varlet’s experience is its dynamic Triad Stats system, which shapes character progression based on player choices. These six distinct attributes are divided between Light and Dark Triad traits; light Triad stats emphasize morality, sympathy, and altruism, while Dark Triad stats lean into Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and narcissism. Throughout their days at school players will encounter a variety of situations where they will need to make a decision on how to respond or proceed, with each decision point contributing towards the protagonist’s own Triad. This can potentially provide the protagonist with additional options in combat, with the Dark Triad unlocking powerful new skills and the Light Triad providing potent buffs to support allies or unlock special new choices normally unavailable during the main scenario.
