Kaiju No. 8 The Game is now available worldwide on iOS and Android

Akatsuki Games has released its RPG based on Kaiju No. 8, Kaiju No. 8 The Game, worldwide for iOS and Android with the PC (Steam) release to follow at a later date.

Kaiju No. 8 The Game is a free-to-play turn-based RPG based on the manga and anime series and it features three different story modes: Main Story, Memories, and Character Stories. Combat in Kaiju No. 8 The Game is turn-based and it crossed over 1 million pre-registrations ahead of today's launch. 

Kaiju No. 8 The Game is now available. You can download it on Google Play for Android here, the App Store for iOS here, and wishlist it on Steam here.

Akatsuki Games Inc., TOHO CO., LTD., and Production I.G, Inc. today launched their Kaiju-Slaying Battle RPG Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME on the App Store and Google Play. The new title adapts Naoya Matsumoto’s award-winning manga and anime franchise, combining turn-based combat, role-playing, in-depth character building, and epic boss battles against giant Kaiju to deliver a captivating game authentic to Kaiju No. 8’s fantastical world. Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is free-to-play with in-app purchases and will be released on PC (Steam) at a later date.

In collaboration with Matsumoto, the game offers fans original storylines presented entirely in full voice acting, delivering an immersive experience for players. Whether you are a longtime fan of the manga and anime or encountering Kaiju No. 8 for the first time, this game promises ultimate thrill and entertainment.

Key Features of  Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME

  • Choose from Three Different Story Modes: The game offers an original “Main Story” branching from the manga and anime, “Memories” which allows players to revisit classic moments, and “Character Stories” to explore the relationships and interactions between team members. Each mode has its own unique appeal, allowing both longtime fans of Kaiju No. 8 as well as new fans to fully enjoy the experience.
    • Main Story: Follow original characters from the Closing Order with Zero Restrictions (CLOZER), a special unit led by Sagan Shinomiya, the adoptive older sister of Kikoru Shinomiya.  She moved to the United States and enlisted in the American Defense Force after being adopted into the Shinomiya family.
    • Memories: Relive iconic scenes from the Kaiju No. 8 anime and manga.
    • Character Stories: Highlights the daily lives and interactions of individual team members in original scenarios.
  • Action-Packed Turn-Based Battles: In Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, players assemble squads of their favorite Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force officers and face down deadly Kaiju in an intuitive, turn-based combat system. Utilize officers’ unique skills and Ultimates, expose the Kaiju’s cores, and deliver a finishing blow!
    • Iconic officers join forces, including Kafka Hibino, Mina Ashiro, Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, Soshiro Hoshina, Isao Shinomiya, and more.
    • Players form squads of four characters, so balance the characters’ strengths and abilities to create a well-rounded team. When characters fight together as battle buddies, they can coordinate to provide powerful support for one another in combat.
    • While the game’s controls are simple, characters’ and Kaiju’s abilities and unique traits introduce deeper layers of strategy to combat.
  • Character Development: In the game, players can nurture their favorite characters through a variety of growth systems, including enhancing attributes, skills, and equipment.
    • The game also features an equipment crafting system called “Unipart R&D” where each crafted item has randomly generated stats. This adds depth to both selection and development, offering a gameplay style suited for long-term engagement.
    • Collect materials through specific quests to develop and strengthen the characters you love.

Reno Ichikawa Joins THE GAME in “Numbers Weapon 6” Outfit
Having just debuted in Episode 19 of the Kaiju No. 8 anime last night, Reno Ichikawa arrives to THE GAME wearing his “Identified Kaiju Weapon (Numbers Weapon) 6.” Players can acquire ★5 [The Compatible User] Reno Ichikawa and the ★5 AR-Boreas (Assault Rifle) via the gacha.
