Giant robot dance battle RPG Steel Century Groove launches for PC on January 28, 2026

Sloth Gloss Games has announced that Steel Century Groove will launch on January 28, 2026 for PC (Steam).

Steel Century Groove is a rhythm RPG set in the post post-apocalypse, where giant robots are no longer needed for warfare and thus have been retrofitted for use in dance battles instead. It's like Giant Robots meets Dance Dance Revolution meets Pokémon, or something like that. You can check out our preview from GDC earlier this year.

A release date announcement trailer, description, and screenshot set can be found below, via Sloth Gloss Games.

Developed by Sloth Gloss Games, this grand adventure will have you busting a move and busting opponents as you control giant, repurposed war machines. Thousands of years after these monstrosities prevented an apocalypse, Steel Century Groove’s ambitious protagonist is now using them to achieve stardom and become a championship pilot.

Form new friendships (and rivalries) and turn your mecha from scrap metal to a platinum superstar as you upgrade its mods and abilities, adjusting your playstyle, with RPG-like elements. Dance battles are set to a banging (copyright-friendly) soundtrack packed with original music, or you can upload tracks to create your own zero-to-hero playlist.

Key Features of Steel Century Groove

  • Boogie Wonderland: Conquer the suburbs, the vibrant big city and everything in between, including a snowy amusement park with rideable rollercoasters, a dazzling moon resort for the ultra-wealthy, and the underwater ruins of San Francisco as you travel from your hometown to compete for the championship.
  • Can’t Touch This: Assemble an unstoppable crew of giant robot dancers, levelling them up, choosing their mods, and collecting upgrades to further add to their two-stepping talent.
  • It’s Automatic: The aux cord is all yours, baby! Import any MP3 you like and dance battle to that, or, go deeper and manually tweak the track’s BPM.
