Former Rune Factory 3 & 4 staff members work on developing Farnia Village for PC via Steam
A new Steam page for a farming life simulation game titled Farnia Village has appeared. This new'y revealed indie game is notably being worked on by staff members who had worked on Rune Factory 3 and Rune Factory 4.
Leading this project is Shinichi Manabe, who previously worked as the lead programmer of Rune Factory 3 and the director of Rune Factory 4, but he has since established ManaGames to work on this indie game. He is also accompanied by Takanori Tsuji, who was the narrative writer in both aforementioned titles.
The team also confirmed the return of Tomoko Morita, the composer who worked on the Rune Factory series up to RF Oceans (Tides of Destiny) and is currently affiliated with Studio Qareeb. In addition, they are working with benitama, kannnu, and BOKI simole for the character designs.
Manabe has also set up a Kickstarter page for this project. Although he initially set up a funding goal of 5 million yen, it has already been reached in short order, with various stretch goals also prepared.
The Kickstarter page also reveals that the team will first release Farnia Village for PC via Steam as the default platform, with other PC platforms like DLsite also in the plans. While the page also mentions an optimization for Nintendo Switch-class hardware and possibilities for additional releases for consoles, the latter is still not completely confirmed as of yet.
