Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 on PS5 and Xbox will not support save transfer between the old and new versions

Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 on PS5 and Xbox will not support save transfer between the old and new versions

When Sega revealed the new ports of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series coming next month, the Asia English Like a Dragon portal website had additional details confirming no save transfer between the original PS4/Xbox versions and the new PS5/ Xbox Series releases.

This was confirmed already for Yakuza 0 Director's Cut on PS5, Xbox, and PC via store pages, but there was no mention of save transfer for the new versions of Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 on the website and other retail listings. The Asia English website post from about a month ago has the additional languages listed for the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, but it also has the following mentioned at the bottom of the announcement post:

*The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are updated editions of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases with additional language support. The core game content and features remain unchanged, so please be mindful of duplicate purchases.

*Save data cannot be transferred between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.

*Save data cannot be transferred between the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game.

Yakuza Kiwami is now available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Both games launch on November 13 for Nintendo Switch 2 and December 8 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC versions of both will be updated with additional languages as well.
