Remedy Entertainment unveils Control Resonant for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Remedy Entertainment pulled back the curtain on the long-awaited sequel to their 2019 action-adventure game Control with Control Resonant. While its predecessor wasn't quite a full-fledged RPG, the developers have described Control Resonant as an "open ended action-adventure RPG". Although Remedy Entertainment is publishing the title, Annapurna Pictures is partnering with them to co-finance and co-produce the game.

Control Resonant has players control Dylan Faden, the younger brother of Control's previous main character Jesse Faden. The Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) deploys Dylan after years of confidence to handle a new supernatural conflict in Manhattan. Its announcement trailer showcases Dylan's multipurpose weapon transform into dual poles, a club, and a sickle. Plus, Dylan has the ability to manipulate the environment and supercharge his arms to deal devastating melee attacks.

Today, Remedy Entertainment unveiled Control Resonant, the highly-anticipated sequel to Remedy’s critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning Control. Players will explore a warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation in this thrilling action-adventure RPG. Unleash the extraordinary powers of Dylan Faden as he fights for his humanity and survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat. Control Resonant will be published by Remedy Entertainment. Annapurna Pictures are co-financing and co-producing the game as part of a strategic partnership with Remedy Entertainment. Control Resonant is scheduled to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and Mac via Steam and the App Store.

After years in confinement at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), Dylan Faden’s former captors are deploying him at the peak of a supernatural crisis. Charged with combating a mysterious cosmic entity as it alters fundamental aspects of our reality, Dylan must harness his new found powers to take the fight to the myriad threats overwhelming Manhattan. On the path to unlocking the full potential of his supernatural abilities Dylan will also seek out his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden, as he struggles to comprehend and contain the dangers that have spilled beyond the confines of the Oldest House to tear the world apart.

“Control Resonant pushes our paranatural action RPG series into an expansive, reality-warping playground of choice, power, and consequence," said Mikael Kasurinen, Creative Director of Control Resonant. “You don’t have to know the first game to jump into the sequel, we’ve made this one easy to pick up and hard to put down. We’re pushing the scale beyond anything we’ve done before, elevating combat, exploration, and storytelling into a bigger, more memorable experience. It’s ambitious, a little wild, and we can’t wait for players to get lost in it.”

In Control Resonant, players will explore multiple areas of Manhattan in an expansive, unfamiliar world as an invading cosmic force reshapes the environment, defiles natural law and distorts gravity, reordering reality into a geophysical nightmare. Players will traverse perception-bending locations and journey beyond the material world into a mysterious metaphysical space reflecting Dylan Faden’s troubled psyche. Tap into power that Dylan must learn to master and make choices to shape abilities that manifest and grow while exploring a deep progression system. Face ever-changing threats head-on, utilizing the environment, unleashing elemental abilities and wielding the raw force Dylan’s shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant.
