Indie dungeon exploring RPG Underdeep launches for PC via Steam in Q1 2026
Hakony has opened a Steam page for their upcoming dungeon RPG Underdeep. The game will be formally available sometime around Q1 2026.
The screenshots notably show a mostly monochromatic layout for the game, apart from a few colored highlights. The player will be generally tasked to explore dungeons that are gradually mapped, but their behaviors will also affect a karma system that determines whether the character is good or evil. The game will also have an option to toggle between manual and automated controls, and there will also be asynchronous multiplayer moments when characters created by other players enter their world.
Take note that the Steam page has an AI-generated content disclosure where Hakony admits to modifying images generated by AI. However, the Japanese indie studio also added that depending on the revenue from the number of the game's downloads, they may plan to use those to hire actual professional creators to redo the game's assets.
