The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon demo now available on PS5, PS4, Steam, and Switch

NIS America has launched demos for The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon across console and PC today.

The Trails beyond the Horizon Story Demo is available on all platforms, but the Battle Demo is PS5 and PS4 only. As of this writing, there is no demo available for Switch 2 yet barring the Switch 1 demo which is playable via backward compatibility. If it goes up later today, I will update this story. Only save data from the Story Demo can be transferred to the full game next month.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon launches on January 15, 2026 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam).

The Story and Battle Demos are available now! Start your adventure early with the Story Demo, which features the opening of the game. Then, transfer your save data to the full game when it comes out next month (Day One patch required for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions).
Once you've caught up with Van and friends, swap over to the Battle Demo (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 only), where you can try out a section further into the game and see how combat has evolved.
