Octopath Traveler console game series has now surpassed 6 million units sold in total

Square Enix announced that the whole Octopath Traveler series of console games has now surpassed 6 million units in combined total sales. The company's press release (PDF) added that this number is combined from the worldwide physical shipments and digital download sales of the first Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler II, and Octopath Traveler 0.

This announcement also comes after roughly a whole year since the company announced a 5 million units milestone for the series in December 2024, which back then still only consisted of the first two games. The first Octopath Traveler was noted to have over 3 million units as of September 2022, while Octopath Traveler II hit 1 million on its own in June 2023.

The celebratory artwork and tweet from the Japanese official social media account are available right below. It also added that the first two Octopath Traveler games are also having a 60% discount throughout the holiday season. For the PC releases on Steam, this discount also runs throughout the 2025-2026 Steam Winter Sale, which will conclude on January 5.
