Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo launches on January 7 with save data transfer; Opening Movie revealed

Square Enix has announced that a free demo for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be available starting January 7 for all platforms, and save data from the demo can be carried over to the full release next month. Additionally, those who play the demo will earn a "Day Off Dress" appearance changing costume for Maribel in the full game.

Additionally, Square Enix has released the game's opening movie, which we've shared below.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is set to release on February 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam).

Play the free demo for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined starting January 7th and carry over your progress into the full game when it releases on February 5, 2026.
Adventures who have demo saved data on their console and continue their journey in the full game will also receive a reward - Maribel's "Day Off Dress".
