Persona 5: The Phantom X version 3.0 update adds Frostgale Kotone with a new main story episode

Atlus and Sega have released a new major update to the Japanese and Western releases of Persona 5: The Phantom X that brings the game's version up to 3.0. Some of the highlights of this update include the addition of new episodes and Palace areas in the main story, and a new gacha banner featuring the 5-star Frostgale version of Kotone "Mont" Montagne.

As this is a major version update, it also comes with a new battle mode called Trial of the Astrolabe. It will challenge players to complete a number of battles with different rules, and each character also has a finite number of times they can join a party in these battles during the period. In addition, the companies newly implemented Lufel's Business Plan EX, which was previously teased as a new feature exclusive to the newer servers.

As a side note, while the IWPlay-run Southeast Asian server got synced for the simultaneous worldwide Christmas update that added Justine and Caroline, it is getting desynced again for some reason and is now expected to get the 3.0 update 8 days later.

Trial of the Astrolabe is a battle mode where you can obtain enhancement materials for the expanded Mindscape by completing stages.
Attempting a stage consumes Willpower, and each Phantom Thief has a limit on how many times they can participate. However, even if you can't complete a stage in one attempt, you can try multiple times because damage carries over. So give it a try and see how far you can go.

• Party member enhancement system: Mindscape expansion!
The Mindscape feature, which is used to strengthen and develop Phantom Thieves other than the Protagonist, is being expanded.
In the expanded Mindscape system, strengthening the outer ring will unlock the corresponding inner enhancement ring.
The inner enhancement ring allows you to upgrade either Skill Enhancements or Stat Boosts.
Materials required for enhancement are available in Trial of the Astrolabe as well as from 5★ Phantom Thief level up rewards and Realm of Repression: Pursuit of Starshot.

• Levels 75 & 80 added to 5★ Phantom Thief Level Up Rewards
Rewards have been added at levels 75 and 80 for Phantom Thieves other than the Protagonist when they reach those milestones.
Each of these milestone rewards grants enhancement materials for the expanded Mindscape system.

• Thieves' Secrets: Mont's Special Missions

• New Protagonist-exclusive weapon: Abyss Fang
In the exploration rewards for the new area of Chapter 3's Palace in the main story, the Protagonist's exclusive weapon Abyss Fang and the special Shards used to forge it, Abyss Fang Shard, will appear.
Furthermore, Abyss Fang Shard will be added to the lineups in the Companio Coin Exchange Shop and the Star Crystal Exchange Shop.

• Space Revelation Cards lineup additions
The exchange options for items that grant Space Revelation Cards, such as Orange Fortune Revelation and Unknown Orange Revelation S, will be updated to include Freedom and Creation.
