Kyoto Xanadu releases for Switch 1&2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in Summer 2026
Nihon Falcom has revealed Kyoto Xanadu at the early February 2026 Nintendo Direct. Not long after the show ended, the company published their own official website for the game, confirming that it will be available for not only Nintendo Switch 1&2 but also PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in Summer 2026.
This reveal has finally unveiled the Tokyo Xanadu-related project Falcom teased back in 2024, although the project ended up missing its initial release window in 2025 to coincide with Tokyo Xanadu's 10th anniversary.
The Japanese official site also includes introductions of the world setting and gameplay system. For the latter, there will be a flow cycle running between studying at school, traversing through the Hirasaka dungeon underneath the school to fight battles, and having free time to explore the Kyoto city.
A list for the main characters is also available right below:
- Rei Kamiya (voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi, 17 years old, wields Uchigatana & Wakizashi-type equipment)
- Fuka Rikudo (voiced by Coco Hayashi, 17 years old, wields Naginata-type equipment, Rei's classmate)
- Kazuki Nakiri (voiced by Ryota Suzuki, 18 years old, wields War Axe-type equipment)
