Some say that the rumbling that can be felt under your feet is just the reopened metro line, running for the first time since the 1972 incident. Something tells you that the source of the unnerving sounds is located much, much deeper than that…
The 1.2 version number wasn’t chosen arbitrarily; the general goal of this release wasn’t only to bring unfinished and cut content into the game, but also to roughly increase the game's size by 20%. That means 20% more events, mysteries, characters, old gods, and more.
Something older than the metro line, and even older than SHIOKAWA itself, has begun stirring deep beneath the mountains…
Two new OLD GODS have joined the roster of the eldritch horror planning on destroying our world.
Even the rumors about people going missing didn’t stop you from taking the metro. The time saved on travel has allowed you to reorganize and plan ahead.
A new and streamlined user interface that gives players more control over their playthroughs with less clicking.
Despite the weird smell and uncomfortable chairs, you’ve seen old friends and new faces.
10 new allies (+34%) and a reworked conversation system that randomly triggers between investigations, fleshing out the world.
The reopened metro line isn’t the only new thing in SHIOKAWA. A couple of new hiking trails have been opened in the mountains surrounding the city.
60 new events (+32%) have been added to the game, including a brand new location: MOUNTAINS.
It’s important to be prepared for the mountains as it is easy to get injured or lost…
~20 new injuries, mutations, and curses (+23%), 19 new enemies (+19%), and 30 new items (+19%) have been added to the game.
The weather in SHIOKAWA has become so unpredictable that the weathermen simply… vanish. Probably quitting their jobs and leaving the town. That must be it.
WEIRD WEATHER brings a new layer of decisions to the mysteries. If the forecasts are to be believed, you can plan ahead to tackle the harder mysteries during the more favorable weather.
Luckily, you’re not alone in the fight to save your town… and the world.
Three new unlockable characters have been added to the game, including KIRIKO THE TAROTIST. Her tarot reflects not what will happen, but what must be done.
Three new challenges (+42%) have been added to the game, including [YEARBOOK], in which you try to gather evidence of the weird events plaguing your town.
The first scenario has been added to the game, focusing on the three missing students lost in the woods with multiple endings, unique events, allies, and enemies. (and, if you dig deep enough, finally a way to fix the FOREST TAPES and find a TELESCOPE)
A reworked modding system (backward compatible with 1.0 content) will allow the creation of mysteries with unique layouts and chained events.
22 new achievements with a new and improved achievement tracker, helping you to plan your next playthrough.
…and other features await, like cloud saving, Steam achievements, and more.
Please be assured, v1.2 for PC has already begun early QA testing; localization and console porting processes are also underway with the aim of multi-platform parity.
WORLD OF HORROR v1.2 will be available on PC and consoles in due course, and in the base game's supported languages. Stay tuned for more details closer to release.
See you soon back in SHIOKAWA.
