Back to the Dawn is now available for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2

Clouded Leopard Entertainment and Metal Head Games have released the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 versions of Back to the Dawn. The prison escape RPG is now available on Nintendo eShops worldwide including in the US storefront, where both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions have the same price tag of $34.99.

This game first appeared for PC via Steam, with an Early Access launch in November 2023 and a full release in July 2025. The initial PC release had its grand launch with only subtitles in Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and English, although the studio recently added a formal Russian localization last month in February. The console ports notably feature the addition of voiceovers in Japanese and Chinese.

The Nintendo Switch platform releases will not mark the end of the console port project, though, as Clouded Leopard is also planning to bring the game to PlayStation 5. As of this writing, the PS5 port still only has the year 2026 as its release window.

Clouded Leopard has also published a launch trailer for the Switch 1 & 2 releases of Back to the Dawn in numerous languages. The trailer is also available in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), but you can find the English launch trailer with Japanese voiceovers right below.

The globally acclaimed escape RPG returns—now with polished subtitles and brand-new Japanese and Chinese voice acting to bring the drama to life like never before.
