Honogurashi no Niwa is being localized as Village in the Shade by NIS America for PS5, Switch 2, Switch, & PC

Nippon Ichi Software's hand-painted farming sim Honogurashi no Niwa is being localizaed by NIS America as Village in the Shade for PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC (Steam).

Village in the Shade launches this July in Japan on the same platforms. The Western release has a Fall 2026 release window. NIS America has also revealed a limited edition for PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 with the Switch 2 physical being a Game Key Card. You can find the limited edition here. We are excited to announce that Village in the Shade (known as Honogurashi no Niwa in Japan) will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC this Fall. The game is developed by Japanese development studio Nippon Ichi Software, Inc., developers of popular franchises including Disgaea and Phantom Brave.

Welcome to Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village with plenty of secrets. In this  brand-new, hand-painted farming sim, you'll plant crops, customize your homestead, and befriend a cast of intriguing characters.

Relax by the brook, watch the cherry blossoms with your neighbors, or take a stroll through town. With so many ways to relax, you're sure to feel right at home.

Just make sure to follow a few simple rules: don't talk to strangers, don't leave the village, and, whatever you do, don't go out at night.
