Persona 5: The Phantom X version 4.0 update launches with new main story chapter and 2 new party members
Sega and Atlus have released a major update for Persona 5: The Phantom X that brings its version up to 4.0. One of the main highlights in this update is the addition of an all-new arc and episode in the free-to-play game's original main story.
This update also introduces two new recruitable party members. The first one is Shoki "Luce" Ikenami, who will formally appear as a canon Phantom Thief, and all players can recruit him by finishing the new story part added here.
The other new character is Manaka "Ange" Nagao, who has been widely regarded in the earlier East Asian servers as one of the top-tier 5-star Elucidator (supporter) characters but she does not canonically join the team in this story, so she will instead appear as a Phantom Idol recruitable exclusively via the limited gacha banner.
Starting from this update, the later servers of P5X are also having a new opening animation that features the song "Show Stealer", which is performed by Lyn and composed by Ryota Kozuka.
The companies have also uploaded a new webpage to prepare for the 1st anniversary of the Japanese and Global servers, which will fall on June 26. The page also includes a roadmap for future updates leading up to the anniversary, with a "major event" teased in late May. In the earlier East Asian servers, this would refer to the Persona 3 Reload crossover content that started appearing in patches following this main story update, but we still have no clear confirmation yet for Sega and Atlus' plans on the later servers.
